Nominations Sought for ASIL Insights Editorial Board

The American Society of International Law welcomes applications for an opening on the ASIL Insights Editorial Board. ASIL Insights provide concise, objective, and timely background on current legal developments of interest to the international community. Deadline: August 19, 2022

Editors are responsible for selecting Insights proposals that meet the Society’s standards for publication and ensuring that such standards continue to be met throughout the writing process. Proposals are received and considered on a weekly basis. Editors are expected to engage in a substantive review of draft pieces, to edit submissions for grammar and style, and to ensure that citations are accurate and in proper form.

Requirements: BA/BS and J.D., or the equivalent. Demonstrated experience in and knowledge of international law (background in private international law a plus). Strong legal research, writing, and editing skills (journal or other editorial experience highly desirable).

Editors must be (or must become) members of the Society in good standing and are expected to participate actively in the work of the Editorial Board. Depending upon the number and quality of Insights proposals submitted, editors can expect to devote, on average, 1-5 hours each week.

Nominations (including self-nominations) should be submitted to Justine Stefanelli, Director of Publications and Research, at jstefanelli@asil.org, by August 19, 2022. Submissions should include a cover letter outlining the candidate’s qualifications and interest in the position, together with a curriculum vitae of no more than two pages.
