Professor Fidler is James Louis Calamaras Emeritus Professor of Law at Maurer School of Law, Indiana University. He specializes in international law, national security, and emerging technologies. David P. Fidler is senior fellow for global health and cybersecurity at the Council on Foreign Relations.
Along with traditional and persistent human rights violations, the Americas face additional human rights challenges, including the current COVID-19 pandemic, climate change, the erosion of democracy in several countries, freedom of expression in the digital era, migration, and the questioning of multilateralism, among many others.
