A Call to Action: The principles of Martin Luther King, Jr. and the Modern Lawyer

Martin Luther King, Jr., a leader of the American Civil Rights Movement, helped promote political freedom in the United States through his methodology of nonviolent resistance. However, what distinguished MLK’s political freedom was its insistence that it is the responsibility of all individuals to uphold not only their liberties but also those of their peers. Freedom is not an internal phenomenon – it is a communal concern.
