Special Invitation for International and Global Law Enthusiasts

Description:

Hello, global law colleagues!

I can?t believe it has been six months since I joined the team at the LA Law Library as Global Law Librarian! The more I familiarize myself with our amazing global law collection, the more eager I am to discuss our incredible resources with the global law community.

I am therefore thrilled to send you this invitation to a fun, summer evening reception celebrating the global law collection.

Our event will include a special focus on Mexico?s criminal justice system reforms, converting from a closed, inquisitorial system to an open-trial, adversarial, jury-based system more like our own. It will also include the opportunity to participate in a live, interactive portal experience with participants in Mexico City, via Shared Studios ?Portal Project?. The Portal Project (in collaboration with Yale Law School) explores criminal justice reform around the world by hosting live discussions in cities ranging from Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Herat, Afghanistan.

So please come to the LA Law Library on July 25 for a glass of wine and a bite to eat, great company and a unique virtual experience designed to connect the world in a fun, interactive manner.
