Global Legal Developments: Pitt Law Faculty and Friends Discuss Recent Issues on the 20th Anniversary of the Center for International Legal Education

Description:

As part of the Center for International Legal Education's celebration of its 20th anniversary, Pitt Law faculty and their colleagues from across the globe will gather on Friday, September 11, 2015, to discuss a variety of subjects in international law, including Islamic law, international commercial law, and international human rights. (A full list of panel topics and speakers is available here.)

These panels will be preceded by the keynote address for the 20th anniversary celebration, delivered by Jeffrey Kovar, the assistant legal adviser for Western Hemisphere Affairs at the U.S. State Department, who will discuss his involvement in the recent reopening of diplomatic relations with Cuba and the prospects for closer ties between the U.S. and Cuba.

The CILE 20th Anniversary's Friday afternoon program has been approved by the Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education Board for (4) hours of substantive credit. There is a $80 fee for processing CLE credit for this event. Please bring cash or a check for $80 made out to the University of Pittsburgh to the registration table outside the Teplitz Moot Courtroom on Friday afternoon.
