Disaster Law Interest Group Webinar Series: North American Humanitarian Response Summit (NAHRS), presented by Dr. Kirsten Bookmiller

Millersville University's Center for Disaster Research and Education is pleased to host the American Society of International Law-Disaster Law Interest Group's first seminar in its 2018 webinar series, presented by Dr. Kirsten Bookmiller. The North American Humanitarian Response Summit (NAHRS) is a year-long project that seeks to address policy opportunities in cross-border response to potential catastrophic disasters. NAHRS is implemented by the American Red Cross in partnership with the Canadian Red Cross and Mexican Red Cross, and with the participation of the countries' respective federal, state and provincial government entities involved in disaster response. The initiative will formally conclude in March 2018. Dr. Kirsten Bookmiller is a Professor of Government and Political Affairs and Director of Global Partnerships at the Center for Disaster Research and Education at Millersville University of Pennsylvania. Specializing in International Disaster Response Law and Policy, she currently serves as Principal Policy Adviser to the NAHRS project and was recently appointed as Policy Adviser to the International Services Department of the American Red Cross. Dr. Bookmiller co- founded ASIL's Disaster Law Interest Group and held the role of inaugural co-chair from 2015 to 2017.
