This panel will discuss and assess the July 2025 Advisory Opinion on Climate Change of the International Court of Justice. After highlighting the context and overarching significance of the Opinion - especially on State responsibility - the panel will discuss the potential implications of the ICI's determination on pending and future ISDS cases. Speakers on this panel have all participated in the Advisory Opinion representing different States and organizations. The panel is part of the outreach activities of the Task Force, and the discussion will inform the report that is currently being developed.
