Panel Discussion: Can International Law Save Democracies? The Judiciary, International Norms and Democracy.

Topic: How domestic and international judges apply international law in democratic societies. Discussion of judicial deference to international legal norms, the role of courts in holding state actors accountable, and how transnational legal principles promote the establishment and maintenance of international relations based on law and justice.
