How to Handle AI? – Italian National Regulation in the Context of European Law [1]
Artificial Intelligence (AI) aims to meaningfully contribute towards developments and innovation in both the private and public sectors. However, as meaningful and well-intentioned as these interventions by AI may be, they also pose significant risks of harm in the enjoyment of fundamental human rights. For instance, the inclusion of Algorithmic Decision-Making (ADM) processes in various aspects of human endeavors, such as policing, employment, health care, business, criminal justice, etc., may reinforce existing, and create new biases leading to unfair differentiation ? which ultimately leads to harmful discriminatory practices. The webinar will analyze the implementation of the European ?AI Act? in Italy and assess main challenges in the context of Italian legal system.
