Customary International Law in U.S. Courts

Description: 

The panelists for this CLE event will be discussing the application of customary international law in United States’ courts.  The panel will discuss the original intent of the “law of nations” clause in the U.S. Constitution, the place for customary international law in cases filed under the alien tort statute, the interpretation of customary international law by modern courts, and the U.S. government’s position on these issues.
