1931-2009

Professor Franck served the American Society of International Law as President from 1998 to 2000, as Editor-in-Chief of the American Journal of International Law from 1984 to 1993, and as ASIL's Honorary President since March of this year. The author of more than 30 books, Franck received ASIL's lifetime achievement award, the Hudson Medal, in 2003, and he was awarded the ASIL Certificate of Merit for four of his books.
