Welcome to ASIL's Presidents Gallery.  The Society has had 42 presidents since its founding in 1906.  They have come from seven countries, 18 U.S. states, and have served at the highest levels of government, the academy, the bar, the bench, and corporate America.  Their backgrounds and careers mirror the evolution of international law over the last century, from an elite field concerned with relations among states to a diverse and increasingly specialized discipline covering the full range of global issues and actors.
